FAQ

If I book with you what happens next?

I'm so happy that I get the chance to photograph you! You can contact me on my website and I will respond shortly. We'll nail down date, location, and time together. I will send you an agreement form to make sure we're on the same page and then we'll move forward from there.

WHEN IS PAYMENT DUE?

A non-refundable deposit of $100 towards your payment is required to book your session and the rest is due the day of your session. If you have any questions or complications please feel free to message me. Venmo is my preferred payment method, but I also accept cash or check.

HOW DO I DECIDE ON LOCATION?

I typically photograph between Salt Lake and Utah County and the adjoining canyons. Travel fees will be added for locations outside of these areas. Location will be decided with input from client. Studio fees are between $50-$100 in addition to the session fee. There are several studios I can recommend. I love lifestyle in-home sessions!

In Winter I recommend in home and studio sessions. Spring, Summer, and Fall I typically photograph in Millcreek Canyon, Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons, American Fork Canyon, Provo Canyon, public parks, along the Jordan River Trail, and downtown SLC. I'm always scouting new locations and I'm open to suggestions.

WHAT ABOUT SESSIONS NOT LISTED?

I am most experienced photographing portraits and events, but I love photographing just about any event or idea. Please feel free to reach out if you would like me to photograph anything from births to brands.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR AN IN HOME SESSION?

If you would like to be photographed in your home (one of my favorite types of sessions) I ask that you send me basic phone photos of the rooms in your home that receive the most light and take note of the time of day when the light is the strongest. Because light is one of the most important components of a good photograph I like to ensure we schedule when the light is strongest in your home. This also helps me get an idea of the space we'll be working in to make sure I prepare properly.

HOW CAN I HELP MY PHOTOS LOOK AMAZING?

Light is arguably the most important component of a good photograph. Being on time to your session and on board with the time of day I recommend is helpful. Rescheduling due to stormy weather is usually encouraged, but depends on the circumstances. If you need help deciding on outfits I'm more than happy to message back and forth about styling until you feel confident in your decision. If you feel uncomfortable being in front of the camera rest assured you're not the only one. I am here to guide you through poses that look amazing. I consider this my specialty.

What is your cancellation policy?

Life happens and I understand that cancellations are sometimes necessary. If possible I typically prefer to reschedule. Rescheduling due to weather or health is normal and sometimes expected. If you need to cancel (not reschedule) I ask that you cancel within 48 hours of the session.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

I photograph sessions using both a 35 mm film camera and a Nikon D800 digital camera. Digital scans of 35 mm film are by nature are a smaller file size with more grain and can be printed up to 11x14, while digital photos have a large file size and may be printed large scale.
